News 38 cities and 60 airports will receive Verizon's LTE by the end of this year

    LTE is Verizon's next generation investment and will allow faster data speeds than 3G or WiMax networks. Verizon is busy getting LTE set up in 38 cities as well as 60 airports across the United States by the end of this year.

    Verizon's LTE speeds will be from 5 to 12Mbps for downloads and between 2 to 5Mbps for uploads. The 38 cities that will be covered are as follows:

    * Atlanta, Georgia
    * Baltimore, Maryland
    * Boston, Massachusetts
    * Charlotte, North Carolina
    * Chicago, Illinois
    * Cincinnati, Ohio
    * Cleveland, Ohio

    * Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Dallas, Texas
    * Denver, Colorado
    * Fort Lauderdale, Florida
    * Houston, Texas
    * Jacksonville, Florida
    * Las Vegas, Nevada
    * Los Angeles, California
    * Miami, Florida
    * Minneapolis/Saint Paul, Minnesota
    * Nashville, Tennessee

    These are the cities and airports that will be covered this year but Verizon is planning on extending the LTE network to other areas in 2011. Verizon wants to cover 75% of the US by the year of 2012.
