    Just wondering...

....When I bought my new phone last week, I pressed the Send key to review
the recent call list and the first entry is listed as #832.

    What is #832?

It's just a test number. If you call it, you get something like "thank
you for using Verizon Wireless", and it hangs up.

This is a test to establish that your phone is active.

Thank you for your comprehensive response!
