How-to BlackBerry KEY2 LE: Back Up & Restore App Data, Contacts, and Media Files

    Back Up & Restore App Data:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Go to “Personal
    3. Tap “Backup & Reset
    4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
    5. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be automatically restored when logging in with the backup account or reinstalling apps

    Back Up & Restore Contacts:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Accounts
    3. Select an account type
    4. Select the desired account
    5. Ensure the “Contacts” check box is ticked
    6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

    NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored when you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data and contacts with the device.

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” on the phone, when prompted or from the Notification shade
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Navigate to the media files located on the phone
    5. Copy the media files and paste them in the desired backup location on the PC storage
    6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

    Restore Media Files from a PC:

    1. Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” on the phone, when prompted or from the Notification area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media backup files on the PC storage
    4. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
    5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
