The comment from John is the one to go with. Just log on to your account and depending on your account type, you can block up to ten numbers using SPAM control.The same is good for emails.

It is easier to find at vzw dot com spamcontrols

there you will find both the email blocking which vtext dot com has as well as find the place to block calls and texts from any 10 digit number as well

go to Verizon Safeguards to read about them both

get do not disturb with verizon for 2.99 a month or 17 unlimited. also...you can get something called trapcall to unblock blocked numbers

Ok there are two things ytou can do. if u are verizon get do not disturb.... its 2.99 monthly or 16 something unlimited. but its pretty nice. you can block specific numbers, toll free/unknown numbers, private numbers (ppl who dial *67), and block calls during certain hours. It blocks these calls for you and keeps a record of them for you.

Also for those pesky people who call restricted to prank you or what not, get trapcall. the basic plan is free...it allows you to show blocked numbers. its not spam it works and doesn't ask for any credit card numbers. what it does is the call comes through as restricted. press ignore...the call will go through their system and a couple seconds later you'll get a call back from the same person but the number will show. the person will never know. (tip: if you have a ringback tone the ring back tone will play until it gets put thru the system at which time it will switch to just ringing.) its a nice free way to get the numbers of those prankers or people who are harassing you. There are other plans that have more options but they cost money.

I do not know about verizon but on t-mobile There is a block list.
You go to phone book and scroll down to block list. Hit Ok
Options- Add New
Select
on this u can put in the #
or hit recent recipents and scroll to that to add
and you can also choose to block unknown #s.
I do not know if this will work with other carriers.
I have only had T- mobile.
But I am looking to get verizon if they have the free wifi

No they will not - not on t-mobile anyways. it will send a message saying the # you called is not taking calls at this time. Or thats what it used to say. i have 3 #s blocked on mine 2 are 800 #s and since i blocked them i have not recived any calls from those 3 #s. I do know it does not say anything to the caller about it being blocked

I agree with spum, it's true you need to go to your cell phone's website and try and go to your account's setting and see if you have a 'Phone Number Blocker' application because you might need it.

I know this doesn't help your specific situation, but AT&T does have this feature. There is a monthly cost for it of about $5 and it doesn't help to block calls from unknown callers.
