There may be cases where you need to change the default router ip from 192.168.1.x to something else, like 192.168.5.x, for example for settings things up with a VPN like SonicWall SSI-VPN

    Here's how to do it:
    1. Go to 192.168.1.1 in a browser
    2. Log in
    3. Go to My Network
    4. Network Connections (left menu)
    5. Click the edit icon for Network (Home/Office)
    6. Click on Settings at the bottom
    7. Under IP Address change this to the address you want
    8. Under Start and End IP Address make sure to also change the IP
    9. Apply and confirm
    10. You may need to reboot the router so any computers that were connected can reconnect and obtain new IP addresses
    11. If you have FIOS TV you'll need to power cycle your set top boxes. Note: If your STB's start dropping connections and become inconsistent, you may have to revert the IP's back to default. Verizon doesn't officially support changing the default IP's.
