Since I dropped my landline, I now hook up my pc via my LG VX6000. I have it dial into AOL. My question is, Am I just charged minutes, or will I get charged extra since I don't use the Quick 2 Net connection. I just have it dial the local aol access number.

If you use your phone to dial out-- all you're charged are airtime minutes. So, in actuality-- if you used it during your night and weekends, it would be unlimited.
