Hello, I have an upgrade with verizon but I am happy with my phone now, I was wondering if I can get the new phone and just sell it without activating it? Or do I have to activate then after a few hours, reactivate my other phone and then sell the new one?

    Thanks,

    Andy

tis a good question and I've sent an email to Verizon's CS department regarding almost the same issue. Not heard anything back from them. I'm really interested in if I can get a NE2 phone w/o having to activate it at the store before I leave. I just want to get the darn thing ("nationwide exclusive") and activate it on online on my ACII plan w/o getting stuck "upgrading" my plan.

You have to activate the phone within 30days of receiving it, if you do not you will be billed for the cost of the entire full retail pricing of the phone. If you are happy with your new phone, sent it back. THey will change your upgrade dates back.

Again, it is not possible to activate a nationwide required phone on a americas choice plan. The online system will not allow you to do it, our billing systems will not allow you to do it. Even if a store was to do it, you would not be able to use data services correctly and would have all sorts of problems. I have seen were a store accidently activated a voyager on americas choice, picture messages, email, web, nothing works. The only thing that would work is voice.

that works for me. tis all i need to know. but that didnt answer the question of is it necessary to activate it when you get it on NE2. Rather going into technical billing details and what not, cant you ever directly answer a question as it is asked? sorry to sound harsh dude, but its not that helpful to explain why things "wont work" rather than answer the question "is it necessary to activate your phone when you get it on NE2 at the store?"

edit.. ooops. didn't notice that you did answer the OP's question in a separate post. anyhow, did you know there is a multiquote button? it has a little plus sign on it. click that for each post you want to quote, then click the reply button. that way you will not have to make two posts and have me miss one:)

I'm glad to see your foot was safely removed out of your mouth. I answered his questin first, without reading the replies, hence the reason why there is two post. Also, if you have ever read any of my replies, I would say 90% of the time I explain everything in great detail, so people understand the policies, because they are really complicated sometimes.

My knowledge is that if you get a phone on a NE2, you do have to activate it, just like spike5000 says. But then you can just go back to your old phone AFIK.

yeah... i still havent gotten a reply from my email to VZW CS about that. hows that for CS?:flamemad:

anyhoo.. listenman20 informed me over skype convo that he was told by the sales associate that if he got NE2 in the store it had to be activated before leaving the store. However, I think the 30 day thing is what applies if you get NE2 online.
