How-to Enable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Hotspot on Your Motorola Droid Razr M

    How to Enable Wi-Fi

    To turn Wi-Fi on, you have to:

    1. Tap Apps.
    2. Go to Settings.
    3. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn ON.

    Note: Keep you Wi-Fi on whenever it is available and turn it OFF whenever you’re not using it. This will help you conserve the battery life.

    To find networks in the range of your phone:

    1. Tap Apps -> Settings -> Wi-Fi.
    2. Enable Wi-Fi switch to ON and then tap SCAN.
    3. Once your phone finds a network, tap on it to connect. If necessary, enter the Network SSID, Security and Wireless password, and then Connect.
    4. Once your phone is connected to Wi-Fi, you should see the Wi-Fi indicator in the status bar.
    5. However, if you see a question mark on the Wi-Fi indicator, you have to drag down the bar, tap the network and enter its password.
    6. Next time when your Wi-Fi is on, your phone will automatically reconnect to the available networks it had connected in the past.

    Note: If you want to see your phone’s MAC address and Wi-Fi settings, touch Menu and then Advanced.

    To manage your networks tap Apps -> Settings -> Wi-Fi -> turn Wi-Fi switch to ON -> tap Menu -> tap Manage Networks.

    To remove a network:

    1. Tap the desired network from the list.
    2. Tap Forget.

    How to Enable Wi-Fi Hotspot for Your Motorola Droid Razr M

    Your phone can be turned into a Wi-Fi Hotspot that can provide portable and convenient internet access to any other Wi-Fi device that you have. To enable your Wi-Fi Hotspot, you have to:

    1. Tap Apps.
    2. Go to Settings.
    3. Tap Tethering & Mobile Hotspot.
    4. Check Mobile Hotspot.
    5. You phone will now turn off the Wi-Fi power and will start using mobile network for access to the internet.
    6. Next, you have to set up security for your Wi-Fi Hotspot. So you have to tap Mobile Hotspot Settings -> Configure Mobile Hotspot:
    - SSID – enter a name for your hotspot.
    - Select what type of security you want – Open or WPA2, however, it is strongly recommended that you set up a password. For WPA2, enter a password that others will need in order to have access to your Wi-Fi Hotspot.
    - Channel – try a different channel if you notice interference after your phone has been active as a hotspot for a while.
    7. When the settings are complete, tap Save.

    Note: Your Motorola Droid Razr M supports the 802, 11a, b, g, n Wi-Fi modes.

    How to Enable Bluetooth

    1. Go to Apps - > Settings -> turn the Bluetooth switch ON.
    2. Now make sure the device you want to connect to has its Bluetooth turned ON and then tap SEARCH FOR DEVICES.
    3. Tap on the found device to connect. In some cases it’s necessary to tap Pair or enter a passkey such as 0000 or 1234.
    4. The Bluetooth status indicator will turn blue when you are connected to a device.

    Manage your devices

    If you want to manually reconnect to a paired device, you have to tap the device name in the Available Devices list.
    To disconnect from a device – tap on the name of the paired device and then tap OK.
    To delete a paired device – tap the Settings icon next to the name of the device when you are in the Paired Devices list, and select Unpair.

    To rename your device

    1. Go to Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Bluetooth -> turn the switch ON.
    4. Tap Menu -> Rename Phone.
    5. Enter a name.
    6. Tap OK.
