Hanging up VX4500 in Driving Mode

Hello. I have VX4500 and this phone can be set to "Driving mode", although,
the incoming announcement in driving mode comes through the speakerphone and
you are expected to respond "YES" using the phone mic, even though you are
using a headset. Anyway, when you are finished with your call, you have to
flip open the folder and (with the phone holstered in your belt) you have to
press the End key. I sometimes press the wrong button because I don't want
to keep my eyes on the road while driving.

The manual on pages 22 and 23 says that to end a call (both incoming and
outgoing) you may press the End key or the side key TWICE. The side key
    (twice) doesn't work.

I contacted LG on this and Cust Svc rep replied that it can only be used to
hang up an incoming call! My VX4500 with firmware version T45VZV01 does not
hang up incoming or outgoing call by pressing the side key twice.

I resplied to the Cust Svc rep and even attached pages 22 and 23 of the
manual (from the available pdf file) and told him that it clearly states on
the manual that the phone can be hang up using the side key, either incoming
    or outgoing.

I'm anxiously waiting for his response. BUT he may respond in a week. My
first email to LG was replied after a week.

I just recently moved to the VX4500/V02 f/w and find that my phone
disconnects when the other party hangs up. I am in-between headsets
right now, but think that worked the same way with the headset too.

Perhaps you can get this functionality by updating your firmware. ??

I just tried on my phone and it disconnected regardless whether I was
the caller or the callee. (with auto answer set off, driving mode on).

Set auto-answer to 1 or 3 rings and you don't even need the headset to
use the speaker phone with the flip closed. Again, my 4500 disconnects
when the calling party hangs up.
