Help: Android call-rejection link dumps half my calls ...

Half of the times my new Sony Xperia (Android 4) rings, by the time I've
fetched it out of my pocket I've inadvertently triggered the link to
"Reject Call, and send the following as call-rejection message".

Q.: What Android set-up option(s) do I need to find and alter so that this
sort of automatic call-rejection cannot happen until *after* I've been able
to fumble the phone out of my pocket and turn it screen side up so I can
see what I'm doing? The screen that an incoming call triggers offers three
options: 1) answer call (green icon requiring sliding to right); 2) refuse
call (red icon requiring sliding to left); and 3) reject call and send
call-rejection message chosen from list (only one simple touch required).

Thanks for any tips here. Cheers, -- tlvp

My immediate thought is that your phone is a poor match for your habits.
It may be easier to change your phone than it is to change your habits!

Exactly why I solicit phone setup tips rather than behavioral advice :) .

Have you tried always putting the phone in your pocket with the screen facing your leg? this way when you reach in to get it, your fingers wont be touching the screen.
