I'm looking into buying this phone and want to know if:

Does it have any issues with bitrate while playing mp3s, will it play constant 320 kbit? will it play variable bitrate?

Will if play mp3's over bluetooth earpiece/headphones?

How's the MP3 playback, will it play shuffled?

Thanks for your help, trying to decide between switching to verizon and getting the VX8100 or the Motorola E815, versus sticking with T-mobile and getting a free Motorola V360. The online manual for the V360 says no bit rates over 192. From what I've read it seems the differences are:

    Reception:
    E815 has slighty better

    Battery Life:
E815, but stock battery for 8100 can be changed

MP3 and other file transfer ease
    8100

    MP3 playback
    8100

    Sturdy Feel
    8100

    Price:
    E815

if you buy a new 8100 with VCast music on it, the phone will play WMA's. it might still play mp3's but there might be a way you can still play mp3s with the phone. the e815 has a extended battery too.

I can postively tell you you can play MP3 still lol. All I have and make for my phone is MP3's if that eases your mind at all. I do not not even care about putting the wma's on my phone although you can make playlists with the wma's. I even have the new V7 upgrade on my phone. I had it flashed. It is a great phone and very happy with it. If you get the 8100 you will have to enable the mp3 player. Disabled by default now with the new v cast and V7 software. Easy to do though. Takes about 2 seconds. Just so you know that all my MP3's are at 128 also.
