Help with Razr V3c bluetooth setup

Discussion in 'alt.cellular.verizon' started by Mack McKinnon, Feb 1, 2006.

  1. Never used Bluetooth before but now want to see what is possible with a
bluetooth connection between my new Razr V3c and my office desktop.

Bought a bluetooth dongle (Motorola PC850) and installed the software for it
on my desktop. Set up the phone to connect with the desktop.

I get three available options in the window, "My Bluetooth Places\Entire
Bluetooth Neighborhood\Motorola Phone": "Dial-Up Networking Gateway on
Motorola Phone", "Handsfree Voice Gateway on Motorola Phone" (neither of
which it seems to me that I have any use for right now) and "OBEX File
Transfer on Motorola Phone", which I click to get:

    My Bluetooth Places\Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood\Motorola Phone\OBEX File
Transfer . In that window are 6 folders: audio, picture, video, mixedmedia,
ringtone, vst . But when I click on any of them, all I get is "Getting File
List", followed by a blank window. Nothing appears. No file list, nothing.

I don't even know what I am supposed to see, if anything. But as of right
now, the Bluetooth connection between my phone and my computer gives me
nothing whatsover. So, what do I do here?

Others may be able to confirm/correct this, but your experience seems
consistent with oft-stated comments about Verizon shutting off all bluetooth
functions in its cell phones except for handfree/headset. (The earliest
Razrs Verizon sold are rumored to work in all bluetooth modes, however.)

Like you, I'd like to connect my Razr to my computer via bluetooth, so I
hope anyone with success can help.
