Does anyone have any experience changing ones phone number through
Verizon Wireless? I just realized that my cell phone is long distance
from my home line, and i get billed every time i call my own cell phone.

    What a pain!

Im just wondering what I should expect if I attempt to get my number
changed... I just dont want to get billed out the ass for it. You'd think
they'd set it up in my home phone system, not give me a number from a locality
    30 miles away

I called and changed my number and the CSR was very helpful and gave a easy
number to remember and even asked me if I was happy with the number before
    changing it.

Are there any Verizon exchanges even available in your local area? If so,
then you can change to it. Normally there is a $15 charge for a number
change but for what you are wanting to do it for, its usually waived.

It should be just about that easy, but remember that in most cases you won't
be able to get a *specific* phone number. Good CSRs like the one Rod talked
to will try to give you one that's easy to remember, but they apparently
can't guarantee what you will get.

Make sure that they're in the same Verizon service area. If they're
not in the same service area, you may have to cancel your plan and get
a new one (ick). But call CS first. (Since it's long distance, that
implies to me that they might not be in the same service area.)
