How long is a particular phone likely to stay on the market?

I am interested in the VX4400, but won't be eligible to upgrade (New
Every Two) until next May. Do you think that this phone would still
be available then? Hopefully it would be a little cheaper, too...

    Thanks.

That is what I would like to know also. I am going to switch to VZW but
can't get the phone for less than $179 unless I get it online.

That's when I am up for renewal too, unfortunately, my experience with
previous phones is that a new model comes out the day after I upgrade.
Computers are the same way, except they are usually obsolete before I get
    home. :(

If it's not available by then you'll probably want the one that is,
since it'll probably have even more features.

Unless it sucks as a phone.

    Doubtful.

Phones don't have a shelf life one to two years at most. The 4400 is
about 8-9 months old. I would say its a safe bet the 4400 well be
    replaced by then.

The 8300 only lasted 10 months.
