    3. Open “Settings
    4. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset
    5. Tap “Restore from HTC Backup
    6. Follow the on-screen steps to select a backup account and complete the process

Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

    1. Launch “Settings

    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups
    4. Copy the backup files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder they originate from
    5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray
    6. You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

You can restore lost data from HTC phone on computer before they were overwritten by new data, an android phone recovery could recover lost data from android phone without any backup file, and you should have a habit of backuping your phone to computer, then you can recover from the backup file. Restore Lost SMS from HTC Device
