NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up app data, media files, and contacts on the HTC Desire 530.

    Restore App Data:

    1. Make sure your phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
    2. Open the apps drawer
    3. Launch “Settings
    4. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and Reset
    5. Tap “Restore from HTC Backup
    6. If necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to select an account and complete the process

Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts & Sync
    3. If needed, sign in with the Google account containing the backup
    4. Access the account’s sync options and make sure “Contacts” is checked
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync all

Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Connect the HTC Desire 530 to your computer via USB
    2. At the prompt, enable “Media device (MTP)” / “disk drive”, otherwise enable the option from the “Notification” area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Use the Explorer to locate the media file backups located on the PC
    5. Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directory they originate from
    6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone’s virtual drive from the system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

    1. Connect the HTC Desire 530 to your Mac via USB
    2. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt, or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the media file backups
    4. Copy the backup files from the Mac, and transfer them in the “Media” folder on the phone
    5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can
    6. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
