How-to HTC One M9: Back Up Personal Data

    Back Up Applications:
    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings
    3. Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset
    4. If necessary, tap “Backup account” > “Google Account” > “Add account” and sign in with your Google account
    5. Enable “Back up my data” and “Backup account
    Back Up Contacts:
    1. Make sure the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network
    2. Open the apps drawer
    3. Access “Settings
    4. Swipe to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset
    5. Tap “Backup account” and choose “Google account” or “HTC Account
    6. To back up contacts daily over Wi-Fi, enable “Automatic Backup
    7. To manually back up contacts, tap “Back up now
    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
    1. Establish a USB connection between the HTC One M9 and computer
    2. Make sure the phone is connected as a “disk drive” or “Media Device (MTP)
    3. Launch an Explorer window on the computer
    4. Navigate to, and copy the media files you want to back up
    5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
    6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray, and safely disconnect the device from the USB
    Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:
    1. Connect the One M9 to your computer via USB
    2. Open the file explorer and locate the media files on the device
    3. Copy the files and transfer them on your Mac storage
    4. After the transfer is done, drag the One M9’s virtual drive and drop it in the “trash can
    5. It’s now safe to disconnect the phone from the USB

    You can also use HTC Data Manager tool to help you backup personal data on your HTC One M9. You just need to connect it to computer via usb cable, open the tool. It will help you scan out all data on HTC. Then you can choose data you want to backup.
