    Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps freezes, crashes, takes up too much storage etc. you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, your personal data stored within the app will be deleted. This includes user profiles, save files, personalized settings, login information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access ‘Apps
    3. Select the desired app
    4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache
    5. If clearing the app cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK

    Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you consider factory resetting it, alternatively you can try fixing the issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data from the device.

    1. Turn the phone off if necessary
    2. Press and hold “Volume down” and “Power” at the same time
    3. Release “Power” when the phone vibrates
    4. Release the volume key at the “hTC download menu” screen
    5. Press “Volume down” to navigate the menu and highlight “Reboot to bootloader
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. At the “No command” screen, press and hold “Power” and “Volume Up” simultaneously
    8. Once in Android Recovery, release the keys
    9. Navigate the menu using “volume down” and highlight “Wipe cache partition
    10. Press “Power
    11. Once the process completes, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power” one last time

NOTE: if clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the device.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes problems and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app while in Safe Mode, where all third-party apps are disabled by default. To boot to Safe mode:

    1. Press and hold “power” on the home screen
    2. From the “Power options” pop-up, tap and hold “Power off
    3. When prompted to “Reboot to safe mode” tap “Restart
    4. Once the device reboots, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be shown in the lower area of the screen. Open “Settings
    5. Go to “Apps” > “Downloaded
    6. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK
    7. Once done, exit Safe Mode by rebooting your phone normally
