How-to HTC U12+: Tips to Improve and Conserve Battery Life

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Go to “Personal
    3. Tap “Power” > “Power saver
    4. Tick the boxes associated with the power saving settings you want to turn on
    5. Tap the “Power saver” switch to enable the function

    Lower the Screen brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Go to “Display & Gestures
    3. Tap “Brightness level
    4. Turn “Adaptive brightness” Off if necessary
    5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease brightness
    6. For timeout options, tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower value

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” switches to disable the features
    3. Access “location” (GPS)
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving
    5. To disable hotspot, go back to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
    6. Tap “Mobile network sharing
    7. Disable “Mobile hotspot

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

    NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery life and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Go to “Mobile data
    3. Tap “Network mode
    4. Enable “GSM only

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps from the device, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Go to “Apps
    3. Switch to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
    4. Tap “Disable” to turn the app off
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK

    Change Sync Settings To Reduce Sync:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Access “Accounts & Sync
    3. Select an account
    4. Tap the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone
    3. Go to “System updates
    4. Tap “Check now
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update (the update process will require at least one reboot)
