How-to HTC U12+: Transfer Audio Files from a PC and Set Custom Ringtones & Notifications

    Transfer Audio Files from a PC:

    1. Establish a USB connection between the Android phone and computer
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” on the phone when prompted or from the Notification area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the audio files on the PC
    5. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage in the “Media” or “Ringtones” directory
    6. Once the transfer completes, safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

    Change the General Ringtone:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Go to “Personalize
    3. Tap “Ringtone
    4. Select the desired ringtone
    5. Tap “Apply

    Change a Specific Contact’s Ringtone:

    NOTE: You can’t set custom ringtones for contacts stored on the SIM card or the device’s internal memory.

    1. Open “Phone
    2. Select the contacts whose ringtone you want to change
    3. Tap “Ringtone
    4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “Apply

    Change the Notification Alert Sound:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to and tap “Sound & notifications
    3. Tap “Notification sound
    4. Select the alert sound you want to use
    5. Tap “Apply
