WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all your personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted, including media files, apps, contacts, downloaded content etc. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values, however, data located on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected.

NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up data, and this thread for a guide on restoring data.

    Hard Reset via Settings:

    1. Go to “Settings
    2. Switch to “Tab view” if necessary
    3. Access the “General” tab
    4. Scroll to “Phone management” and tap “Backup & reset
    5. Tick or clear the “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore” check boxes
    6. Tap “Backup account” and sign in with a backup account or create one if necessary
    7. Under “Reset”, tap “Factory data reset
    8. Choose whether you want to also “Erase SD card” or not
    9. Tap “Reset phone” to confirm
    10. If your device is protected by a lock screen PIN / password etc. enter it and tap “OK
    11. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset

    Hard Reset using Hardware Buttons:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesn’t allow you to reset it via settings, alternatively you can try resetting the device from the Android Recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing the following:

    1. Ensure the phone is powered off
    2. Next, press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” simultaneously
    3. At the “LG logo”, quickly release and re-hold the “Power” button while holding “Volume down” pressed
    4. When the “Factory data reset” option appears, release all buttons
    5. Tap “Volume down” to highlight “Yes
    6. Press “Power” to confirm the highlighted option
    7. When prompted to “Erase all user data and restore default settings”, highlight “Yes” and press “Power
