How-to LG G6: Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC and Set Custom Ringtones

    Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Connect the LG G6 to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
    5. Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” and / or “Notifications” folder(s)
    6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Change the General Ringtone:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Switch to “List view” if necessary
    3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound
    4. Tap “Ringtone” under “Sound
    5. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK

    Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

    NOTE: You cannot set custom ringtones for contacts located on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.

    1. Open “Contacts
    2. Select the desired contact and tap “Edit
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Ringtone
    4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm

    Change Email Alert Settings:

    1. Launch “Email
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings
    3. Scroll to “Accounts & Sync” and tap “Email
    4. Enable “New Emails” under “Notifications
    5. Tap “Notification sound” and select a notification ringtone
    6. Optionally, you can enable or disable “Vibrate

    Change the Emergency Alert Settings:

    1. Launch “Messaging
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings
    3. Under “Advanced settings” tap “More
    4. Tap “Emergency alerts
    5. Under “Receive alerts”, choose to disable “Imminent extreme alerts”, “Imminent severe alerts” and/or “AMBER alerts
    6. Optionally, tap to enable or disable “Alert sound” and “Alert vibration” under “Sound and vibration
