WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all your personal data stored on the phone will be deleted. This included media files, ringtones, contacts, downloaded content and apps etc. In addition, settings will be restored to factory values, but data located on the SD and SIM cards won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before you reset your phone, you can check this thread for a guide on how to back up data, and this thread for instructions on restoring data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Phone Management
    3. Tap “Backup & Reset
    4. Tick or clear the check boxes linked with “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore
    5. Tap “Backup account
    6. Select an account and go to “Factory data reset
    7. Optionally, select to “Erase SD Card” as well
    8. When ready, tap “Reset phone
    9. If your device is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password etc.
    10. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset

    Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or prevents you from resetting it using the method above, alternatively you can try resetting the device as follows:

    1. Turn the phone Off if necessary
    2. Press and hold “Volume down” and “Power” at the same time
    3. At the LG log, quickly release and re-hold “Power
    4. At the “Factory data reset” screen, release the keys
