How-to LG K20 V: Clear App Cache / Data; Clear the Cache Partition; Reboot to Safe Mode

    Clear App Cache/Data:

    NOTE: In case one of your apps crashes, freezes, takes up too much storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache and/or data.

    WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including profiles, login and credit card information, save files, settings etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. If necessary, go to the “General” tab
    3. Tap “Apps” and go to “All
    4. Select the desired app and tap “Clear cache
    5. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “Yes” (read WARNING above)

    Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

    NOTE: In case your phone crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering factory resetting the device, alternatively you can try fixing the issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Go to the “General” tab if necessary
    3. Tap “Storage” and wait for the phone to finish calculating data
    4. Once the process is complete, tap “Cached data” > “Yes” to clear the cache

    NOTE: If clearing the cache didn’t help, you can visit this thread for a guide on how you can factory reset the LG K20 V.

    Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

    NOTE: In case you have installed a third party app that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled by default.

    1. Press and hold “Power” on the home screen
    2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off
    3. When prompted to reboot in “Safe Mode”, tap “OK
    4. After the phone reboots, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
    5. Open “Settings” and go to the “General” tab
    6. Tap “Apps” and go to “All
    7. Select the desired app
    8. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to remove the app
    9. Once done, you can exit Safe Mode by power cycling your phone as you would do normally. Press and hold “Power” and tap “Power off and restart
