How-to LG Lucid 3: Tips & Tricks to Conserve and Maximize Battery Life

    Enabling Battery Saving Mode:

    1. While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" key
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Access the "General" tab
    4. Tap "Battery" > "Battery saver"
    5. Tap the ON / OFF switch associated with "Battery saver" and set it to "ON"
    6. To change how battery saver mode works, tap "Turn Battery saver on" and select the battery percentage at which the mode turns on automatically
    7. Mark or clear the check boxes associated with the options that you wish to be enabled during battery saving mode, such as "Vibrate on touch", "Wi-Fi" etc.
    8. To access more options, tap the "Settings" icon associated with "Screen timeout" and / or "Brightness"

    Lowering the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. While viewing the home screen, press the "Menu" button
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Go to the "Display" tab
    4. Drag the "brightness" slider to the left, and set the screen to a lower brightness level
    5. Tap "Screen timeout" and select a lower duration, such as "15 seconds"

    Disabling Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS and Bluetooth:

    NOTE: It's highly recommended that you disable all of the connectivity features on your smartphone when they are not in use. Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth etc. can have a big impact on your phone's battery performance.

    1. From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" button
    2. Tap "System settings" > "Tethering & Networks"
    3. Tap "Mobile Hotspot" and clear the check box next to the said option
    4. Press the "Back" button until you reach the "Settings" menu again
    5. Scroll to "Personal" and tap "Location access"
    6. Clear the check box next to "GPS satellites"
    7. Return to the home screen and swipe the "Status" bar down
    8. Tap "Wi-Fi" and "Bluetooth" to turn the features off

    Changing the App Sync Settings:

    1. Press the "Menu" key while viewing a home screen
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Under "Personal", tap "Accounts & sync"
    4. Clear the check box next to "Auto-sync data"
    5. To reduce sync settings for applications, select the desired app

    Disabling Background Data:

    1. Press the "Menu" key while on a home screen
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Tap "Mobile data"
    4. Press the "Menu" button
    5. Mark the check box next to "Restrict background data"

    Minimizing the Use of Third Party Applications:

    NOTE: Although you may not use certain third party apps, they can still have an impact on your phone's battery life, as applications can run processes in the background. It's recommended that you disable or uninstall unused apps. To do so:

    1. From a home screen, press "Menu"
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Under "Device", tap "Apps"
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To turn off the app, tap "Disable". To completely remove it, tap "Uninstall"

    Switching from 4G Connectivity to 2G:

    1. Press "Menu" while viewing a home screen
    2. Tap "System settings" > "Tethering & Networks"
    3. Under "Network settings", tap "Mobile networks"
    4. To restrict to 2G connectivity, mark the "Use only 2G networks" check box

    Updating to the Most Recent Software Version:

    NOTE: following the steps below will have a positive impact on your phone's battery life, only if a new software version that fixes potential battery life issues is available. Otherwise, if no new update has been released, performing the following steps will not have any effect on the battery performance.

    1. Press "Menu" while on the home screen
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Scroll to "System" and tap "About phone"
    4. Tap "System updates" > "Check now"
    5. If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply it
