How-to LG Lucid 3: Tips & Tricks to Manage the Internal (ROM), SD Card Storage and RAM

    Managing the Internal Storage

    Viewing the Amount of Free Storage:

    1. Press the "Menu" key while viewing a home screen
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Under "Device", tap "Storage"
    4. View the available amount of space, under "Internal Storage"

    Changing the Memory Storage Settings for Messages:

    1. Tap the "Messaging" icon located on the home screen
    2. Press the "Menu" key
    3. Tap "Settings" > "Storage"
    4. Tap "Text message limit"
    5. Select the desired value and tap "OK"
    6. Tap "Multimedia message limit"
    7. Enter a lower value and tap "OK"

    Changing the Email Storage Location to SD Memory:

    1. From the home screen, press the "Menu" button
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Go to "Personal" and tap "Accounts & sync"
    4. Tap "Email" > "Email Settings"
    5. Tap "General settings" > "Storage"
    6. Select "SD card"

    Changing the Sync Settings for Gmail to a Higher Number of Days:

    NOTE: you can keep the storage in check by syncing less data from your Gmail account. To do so:

    1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
    2. Tap "Gmail"
    3. Press the "Menu" button and tap "Settings"
    4. Tap the email address associated with the account that you wish to edit
    5. Tap "Days of mail to sync"
    6. Select the desired value, such as "3" (days) and tap "OK"

    Managing the SD Card

    Inserting an SD Card:

    1. Power off your smartphone
    2. Remove the back cover and insert the memory card in the proper slot
    3. Reboot your smartphone
    4. Press the "Menu" button while viewing a home screen
    5. Tap "System settings"
    6. If needed, press "Menu" and tap "Switch to list view"
    7. Go to "Device" and tap "Storage"
    8. Tap "Mount SD card"

    Removing an SD Card:

    1. From any of the home screens, press the "Menu" key
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. If necessary, press "Menu" > "Switch to list view"
    4. Under "Device", tap "Storage"
    5. Tap "Unmount SD card"
    6. Turn off your smartphone
    7. Remove the back cover and safely remove the SD card

    Viewing the Amount of Free Space on the SD Card:

    1. Press the "Menu" key while on a home screen
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Press the "Menu" key and tap "Switch to list view", if necessary
    4. Under "Device", tap "Storage"
    5. The "Available" value is seen under "SD Card"

    Formatting the SD Card:

    WARNING! Formatting the SD card will result in the deletion of all the data stored on the card. If necessary, create backups before proceeding.

    1. Press the "Menu" key while on the home screen
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. If necessary, press and hold the "Menu" key and tap "Switch to list view"
    4. Under "Device", tap "Storage"
    5. Tap "Erase SD card" > "Erase SD card" again to confirm
    6. Tap "Erase everything"

    Managing the RAM

    Viewing the Amount of Free RAM:

    1. From any home screen, press the "Menu" key
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Under "Device", tap "Apps"
    4. Swipe to the "Running" screen
    5. The "free" RAM value is located in the lower-right corner

    Stop Running Apps to Free Up RAM:

    1. Press "Menu" from the home screen
    2. Tap "System settings"
    3. Under "Device", tap "Apps"
    4. From the list of application, tap the desired one
    5. Tap "Stop" to close the app

    Uninstalling an App:

    1. Press "Menu" from the home screen
    2. Go to "System settings" > "Apps"
    3. From the list of applications, select the one that you wish to remove
    4. Tap "Uninstall" > "OK"

    Using the Task Manager to Close Apps:

    1. Press and hold the "Home" button while on the home screen
    2. Tap "Clear all" to close all running applications
    3. To close an app individually, tap and hold it
    4. Tap "Remove from list"
