How-to LG Lucid 3: Transfer Audio Files and Set Custom Ringtones & Notification Sounds

    Transferring Audio Files:

    1. Using the USB cable, connect your LG Lucid 3 to your computer
    2. When prompted, tap "Media sync (MTP)" on the smartphone
    3. From the AutoPlay window on the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
    4. Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the desired audio files stored on your PC's hard drive
    5. Copy the audio files that you wish to use as ringtones / notification sounds
    6. Paste the files on your phone's storage. NOTE: you can drop the files in the "Ringtones" and "Notification" folder respectively
    7. After the transfer is complete, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the system tray
    8. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
    9. You can now disconnect your smartphone from the PC

    Setting a Custom Ringtone for All Calls:

    1. Make sure you've transferred the desired audio files in the "Ringtones" folder
    2. From the home screen, press "Menu"
    3. Tap "System settings" > "Sound"
    4. Under "Ringtone & Notifications", tap "Phone ringtone"
    5. Choose the ringtone that you wish to use. NOTE: the files that you've transferred in the "Ringtones" folder will be listed under "My Ringtones"

    Setting a Custom Ringtone for a Single Contact:

    1. Press the "Contacts" icon located on the home screen
    2. Choose the contact that you wish to edit
    3. Tap "Edit"
    4. Tap the drop-down "Ringtone" menu
    5. Select the file that you wish to use as a ringtone and tap "OK"
    6. Press "Save"

    Changing the Notifications Sound:

    1. Make sure you've transferred the desired audio file in the "Notifications" folder
    2. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" key
    3. Tap "System settings" > "Sound"
    4. Tap "Notification sound" under "System"
    5. Select the sound file that you wish to set as a notification sound. NOTE: you will find the transferred audio files from the "Notification" folder, under "My Notifications".
    6. If the check box associated with the notification sound is grayed out, you'll need to change the sound profile from "Silent" to "Sound"
