How-to LG V40 ThinQ: Restore App Data, Contacts, and Media Files

    NOTE: You can check this thread for instructions on how to back up data on the phone.

    Restore App Data:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Access “Phone Management” > “Backup & Reset
    3. Tap “Restore from backup
    4. Select the desired backup and tap “Start” > “Done

    NOTE: You might need to reboot the device to complete the process.

    Restore Contacts:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Phone Management” > “Backup & Reset
    3. Under “LG Backup” select “Restore from backup
    4. Select the desired backup file and tap “Start” > “Done

    Restore Media Files:

    1. Launch “Settings” and go to “Phone Management
    2. Tap “Backup & Reset
    3. Tap “Restore from backup” and select the desired media files
    4. Tap “Start” > “Restart

    Restore Media Files from a PC:

    1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
    2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the media backup files on the computer storage
    5. Transfer the files to the phone storage in the folders from where they originate
    6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
