How-to LG V40 ThinQ: Transfer Audio Files from a PC and Set Custom Ringtones & Notifications

    Transfer Audio Files from a PC:

    1. Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” on the phone, at the prompt or from the Notification area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the audio files on the PC and copy them
    5. Transfer the files to the phone storage in the “Ringtones” and/or “Notifications” folders
    6. Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

    Change the General Ringtone:

    1. Launch “Settings” and go to “Device
    2. Tap “Sound
    3. Tap “Ringtone
    4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK

    Change a Specific Contact’s Ringtone:

    NOTE: Custom ringtones can’t be set for contacts located on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.

    1. Open “Contacts
    2. Tap the desired contact
    3. Tap “Edit” > “Menu” > “Ringtone
    4. Select the desired ringtone
    5. Tap “OK

    Change Incoming Email Alert Sounds:

    1. Launch “email
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings” and access “Accounts & Sync
    3. Tap “New emails” > “Notification sound
    4. Select the desired notification alert
    5. Optionally, turn “Vibrate’ ON or OFF

    Change Emergency Alert Settings:

    1. Launch “Messages” and tap “menu
    2. Tap “Settings” > “Advanced settings
    3. Tap “more” > “emergency alerts
    4. Turn “Imminent sever alerts” “Imminent extreme alerts” and “AMBER alerts” ON or OFF
    5. Optionally, you can also disable “Sound and vibrate” “Alert sound” and “Alert vibration
