LG VX-6000 Firmware upgrade

    you cannot upgrade the firmware over the air, you have to take it in to a
    store, and they hook your phone up to a computer and upgrade it that way. if
    you are talking about updating your PRL though, you dail *228 option 2.

    phone accurately shows if you are roaming, or on extended network, having
    improved coverage in some cases as well.

    To upgrade the firmware you have to take phone to a verizon store that
    is setup with the equipment to perform the upgrade. I have two lg6000
    phones and each phone took 30mins to upgrade.
    The *228 is to upgrade the roaming capabilities, I think.
