WARNING! By factory resetting your phone, all the personal information stored on the device’s memory, including apps, media files, contacts, ringtones, downloaded content etc. will be deleted, however data located on the SIM and SD cards won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before resetting the phone, you can check this thread for instructions on how to back up data, and this thread for a guide on restoring data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Phone management
    3. Tap “Backup & reset”
    4. Tick or clear the check boxes linked with “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore
    5. Tap “Backup account
    6. Select an account and tap “Factory data reset
    7. Optionally, select whether or not to “Erase SD Card” too
    8. Tap “Reset phone” and if your device is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password
    9. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset

    Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: In case your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it via settings, alternatively you can reset the phone from Android Recovery. To do this:

    1. First ensure the phone is powered off
    2. Then, press and hold “Volume down” and “Power” simultaneously
    3. At the LG logo, quickly release and re-hold “Power
    4. At the “Factory data reset” screen, release all the buttons
    5. Press “Volume down” to navigate to and highlight “Yes
    6. Press “Power” to confirm the highlighted option
    7. When prompted to “Erase all user data and restore default settings” highlight “Yes
    8. Press “Power
