How-to Manage & Use Bluetooth, NFC, Droid Zap and Wireless Display Connectivity on the Motorola DROID Mini

    Bluetooth Management

    Enabling Bluetooth:

    1. While viewing the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Tap the switch associated with "Bluetooth" and bring it in the "ON" position

    Connecting Devices:

    Note: before following these steps, make sure that the device that you wish to pair with is in discoverable mode.

    1. On the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
    2. Go to "Settings" and tap "Bluetooth"
    3. Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled, then tap "Search for devices"
    4. In the list of found devices, select the one that you wish to connect to. (Note: A passkey may be required. By default, most devices have the passkey "0000" or "1234")

    Manage Devices:

    • To make your device visible, tap "Apps" go to "Settings " > "Bluetooth". Tap your smartphone's name and then tap the "Visible to all nearby devices" option. (This will make your device visible for 2 minutes)
    • To reconnect to a Bluetooth device, tap its name in the "Available Devices" list
    • To remove a paired device, tap the "Settings" icon next to the device name in the "Paired Devices" list, and then tap "Unpair"
    • To manually disconnect from a device, tap the name of the device in the list, then tap "OK"

    Sharing Files via Bluetooth:

    • To share photos or videos, tap the "Share" button while viewing the desired file, then select "Bluetooth"
    • To share contacts, go to the "People" app, select a contact, tap the "Menu" icon (depicted as three vertical dots), then tap "Share" and select "Bluetooth"

    NFC Management

    Enabling NFC:

    1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Tap "More" and make sure that "NFC" is enabled

    Sharing via Android Beam:

    1. While viewing the home screen, tap the "apps" icon
    2. Go to "Settings" > "More" > "Android Beam", and then tap the switch associated with "Android Beam" to bring it in the "ON" position
    3. Open the screen containing the content that you wish to share (such as a web page or a photo)
    4. Touch the back of your device with the back of another NFC-enabled smartphone
    5. Once the devices are connected and the "Touch to Beam" message pops-up, tap the screen to share the content

    Using Droid Zap:

    • To enable Droid Zap, tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen, go to "Settings" > "Droid Zap" and make sure that the feature is enabled (tap the On/Off switch associated with the feature)

    To Zap a file:

    1. Access the desired file, such as a photo or a video in your Gallery
    2. Place two fingers on the photo / video, and swipe up
    3. On the other device, swipe down with two fingers to receive the file

    Wireless Display Management:

    Wireless display allows you to mirror your smartphone's content with a HDTV without having to use wires. Note: Wireless Display requires either a Wireless Display adaptor for your TV, or a Miracast-enabled HDTV. To enable Wireless display:

    1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Tap "Display" > "Wireless display"
    4. Tap the power switch associated with the feature, and bring it in the "On" position to enable Wireless display
