    Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your app freezes, crashes, takes up too much storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the app’s cache and/or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the application will be deleted. This includes login and credit card information, settings, user profiles, save files etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Apps
    3. Ensure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired application
    5. Go to “Storage” and tap “Clear cache
    6. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check WARNING above)

    Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably etc. and you’re considering factory resetting it, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition instead. This can lead to results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal app data on the phone storage.

    1. Turn the phone off
    2. Next press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
    3. Once in the “Boot Mode Selection Menu” release the buttons
    4. Press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “Recovery
    5. Press “Volume Up” to select the highlighted area
    6. At the “No Command” screen, press and release “Power” and “Volume Up” repeatedly until you gain access to Android Recovery
    7. Once in Recovery, press “Volume down” to navigate to and highlight “Wipe cache partition
    8. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    9. Once the cache is cleared, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the problems, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the device.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If you have installed a third party app that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app from Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled by default.

    1. Press and hold “power” on the home screen
    2. Tap and hold “Power off” in the power management window
    3. At the “Reboot to Safe Mode” prompt, tap “OK”. NOTE: once the phone finishes rebooting it should display a Safe Mode watermark in the lower area of the home screen
    4. Open “Settings” and go to “Apps
    5. Ensure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    6. Select the desired application
    7. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm
    8. After the app has been removed, reboot your device to exit Safe Mode
