How-to Moto E4 Plus: Transfer Audio Files from a PC and Set Custom Ringtones & Notifications

    Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Moto phone to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the desired audio files on the computer
    5. Copy and transfer the audio files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder
    6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray
    7. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

    Change the General Ringtone:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings
    3. Scroll to “Device
    4. Tap “Sound & Notification” and select the desired ringtone
    5. Tap “OK
    6. Optionally, you can enable or disable “Also vibrate for calls

    Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

    NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set for contacts stored on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.

    1. Open “Contacts
    2. Tap and hold the contact whose ringtone you want to change
    3. Tap “Edit” > “Menu” > “Set ringtone
    4. Select the desired ringtone and press “OK

    Change the Notification Alert Sound:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound & Notification
    3. Tap “Default notification ringtone
    4. Select the desired notification alert and press “OK
