WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, all your personal data stored on the device’s internal memory will be deleted. This includes ringtones and media files, contacts, downloaded content, apps etc. Additionally, all settings will be restored to factory values, however, data located on the SD and SIM cards will not be affected.

NOTE: Before you factory reset your device, you can check this thread for instructions on how to back up and restore data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Personal
    3. Tap “Backup & Reset
    4. In case your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your pattern/password/PIN to proceed
    5. When ready, tap “Reset phone” and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process

    Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: In case you are unable to reset the device via Settings, alternatively you can try resetting the phone from the Android System Recovery menu which can be accessed by performing a combination of button presses:

    1. First, ensure the phone is turned Off
    2. Next, press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
    3. After a few seconds, release the buttons to gain access to “Boot Mode Selection
    4. Press “Volume down” to navigate the menu and highlight “Recovery
    5. Press “Volume Up” to confirm the highlighted option
    6. At the “No Command” screen, press and release “Power” and “Volume Up” simultaneously for several times in order to gain access to Android Recovery
    7. In Recovery, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate to and highlight “Wipe data/factory reset
    8. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    9. Highlight “Userdata only “or “Userdata + personalized content” and press “Power
    10. Once the reset is complete, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After you factory reset your phone, it’s recommended to check if new updates are available for download. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Scroll to “System
    3. Tap “About phone” > “System updates
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot
