    Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps crashes, freezes, takes up too much storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the app’s cache and/or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including settings, user profiles, save files, login and credit card information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings
    3. Access “Apps” and make sure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired application
    5. Go to “Storage” and tap “Clear cache
    6. If clearing the app’s cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check WARNING above)

    Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, takes up too much storage inexplicably etc. and you’re considering factory resetting the phone, you can try fixing these problems by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can yield results similar to a factory reset, without losing any personal data located on the phone’s internal memory.

    1. Turn the phone off
    2. Next press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
    3. Once you gain access to “Boot Mode Selection Menu” release both buttons
    4. Press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight “Recovery
    5. Press “Volume Up” to select the highlighted option
    6. At the “No Command” screen, press and release “Power” and “Volume Up” repeatedly at the same time until you gain access to Android Recovery
    7. Once in Recovery, press “Volume down” to navigate to and highlight “Wipe cache partition
    8. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    9. Once the cache is clear, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the issues, you can check this thread for a guide on how to factory reset the phone.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: In case you’ve installed a third party app that causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled by default.

    1. Press and hold “Power” while viewing the home screen
    2. At the power management pop-up, press and hold “Power Off
    3. At the “Reboot to Safe mode” prompt, tap “OK” and wait for the device to reboot. NOTE: once the phone reboots, there should be a “Safe Mode” watermark in the lower area of the home screen
    4. To remove an app, first open “Settings” and go to “Apps
    5. Then make sure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    6. Select the desired application
    7. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to confirm
    8. Once done, exit Safe Mode by rebooting your phone as you would do normally
