WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all your personal data stored on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted, including ringtones and media files, downloaded content, contacts, applications etc. Additionally, all settings will be restored to factory values, but data located on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected.

NOTE: Before you factory reset your phone, you can check this thread for a guide on how to back up and restore data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset
    4. If your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your password/pattern/PIN to proceed
    5. Tap “Reset phone” to confirm
    6. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the process

    Factory Reset via Recovery:

NOTE: If you are unable to reset the phone via Settings, alternatively you can try resetting the phone from the Android System Recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing the following steps:

    1. Make sure the phone is powered off
    2. Then, press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
    3. Wait for a few second sand release both buttons to gain access to “Boot Mode Selection
    4. Press “Volume down” to navigate to and highlight “Recovery
    5. Press “Volume Up” to confirm the highlighted option
    6. At the “No Command” screen, press and release “Power” and “Volume Up” at the same time to gain access to Android Recovery
    7. Once in recovery, press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight “Wipe data/factory reset
    8. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    9. Highlight “Userdata only” or “Userdata + personalized content
    10. Press “Power” and wait for the reset to complete
    11. After the reset is done, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: Once you factory reset your phone, it’s recommended to verify if new software updates are available for download. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to “System
    3. Tap “About phone” > “System updates
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot
