How-to Motorola Moto G6: Transfer Audio Files from a PC and Set Custom Ringtones & Notifications

    Transfer Audio Files from a PC:

    1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
    2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification shade
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” and “Notifications” directories
    5. After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

    Change the General Ringtone:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Device” > “Sound & notification
    3. Select the desired ringtone
    4. Tap “OK
    5. Optionally, turn “Also vibrate for calls” ON or OFF

    Change a Contact’s Ringtone:

    NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set for contacts located on the phone’s internal memory or the SIM card.

    1. Launch “Contacts
    2. Tap and hold the desired contact
    3. Tap “Edit” > “Menu” > “Set ringtone
    4. Select the desired ringtone
    5. Tap “OK

    Change the Notification Alert Sound:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Go to “Sound & Notification
    3. Tap “Default notification ringtone
    4. Select the desired notification alert and tap “OK
