    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type
    4. Select “2G

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Third-party apps can perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. Thus you might improve battery life by removing or disabling unused apps.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Apps
    3. Switch to “All apps” if necessary
    4. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Go to “Personal
    3. Tap “Accounts
    4. Select an account type and the desired account
    5. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “System updates
    3. Check if new updates are available
    4. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and install the update
