How-to Motorola Moto Z3: Transfer Audio Files from a PC and Set Custom Ringtones & Notification Alerts

    Transfer Audio Files from a PC:

    1. Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
    2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification shade
    3. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage in the “Ringtones” and “Notifications” directories
    4. After the process completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Change the General Ringtone:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Go to “Device” and tap “Sound & notification
    3. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK
    4. Optionally, enable or disable “Also vibrate for calls

    Change a Specific Contact’s Ringtone:

    NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set for contacts located on the SIM card or the device’s internal memory.

    1. Launch “Contacts
    2. Tap and hold the contact whose ringtone you want to change
    3. Tap “Edit” > “Menu” > “Set ringtone
    4. Select a ringtone and tap “OK

    Change Notification Alerts:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Go to “Sound & Notification
    3. Tap “Default notification ringtone
    4. Select the desired notification ringtone
    5. Tap “OK
