How-to Samsung Galaxy J3 V (2018): Restore Contacts and Media Files

    NOTE: You can check this thread for a guide on how to back up media files, contacts, and app data on the device.

    Restore Contacts from SD Storage:

    1. Open “Contacts
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings
    3. Go to “Contacts to display” and select “All contacts
    4. Tap “Import/Export contacts
    5. Tap “Import from SD card” > “OK

    Restore Media Files from SD Storage:

    1. Launch “My Files
    2. Access “SD Card
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Edit
    4. Tick the boxes associated with the media file types you want to restore
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “Internal storage
    6. Tap “Move here” or “Create folder” and select the desired folder’s name
    7. Tap “Move here

    Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Establish a USB connection between the Android phone and computer
    2. On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage in the folders of origin
    5. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Restore Media Files from a Mac:

    1. Connect the Android device to the Mac via USB
    2. On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification shade
    3. Launch Kies on the Mac and click “Back up / Restore
    4. Access “Restore” and tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
    5. Click “Restore” and follow the prompts
    6. Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it over the trash can, then safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
