How-to Samsung Galaxy J7 V: Transfer Audio Files from a PC and Set Custom Ringtones & Notifications

    Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy J7 V to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the desired audio files on the PC
    5. Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” and/or “Notifications” folder(s)
    6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps below.

    1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Head down to http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/kies
    3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and follow the on-screen steps to download and install Kies on the Mac
    4. Connect the Samsung Galaxy J7 V to your Mac via USB
    5. Enable “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    6. Launch Kies on the Mac
    7. In Kies, click the “Folder” icon associated with “Internal memory” or “External memory
    8. Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files
    9. Drag and drop the files inside Kies to start the transfer
    10. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “trash can
    11. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

    Add Audio Files to the Ringtone List:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & notifications
    3. Under “Sounds”, tap “Ringtones and sounds
    4. Tap “Ringtone” > “Add ringtone
    5. Select “Sound picker” and choose to use the feature “Always” or “Just once
    6. Select the audio files you wish to add to the ringtone list
    7. Tap “Done

    Change the General Ringtone:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & Notifications
    3. Tap “Ringtones & sound” under “Sound
    4. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
    5. Tap “Back” to confirm

    Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

    NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the SIM card or the phone’s internal memory.

    1. Open “Contacts
    2. Select the desired contact
    3. Tap “Edit” > “Ringtone
    4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” > “Save

    Change the Notification Sound:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sounds & notifications
    3. Tap “Ringtones and sounds
    4. Select a notification type and the desired notification sound
    5. Tap “Back” to confirm the changes

    If you just want to transfer audio files from a pc to Samsung Galaxy J7, you can ask help from Samsung mobile manager tool. With its help, you can directly transfer data to it from pc via usb cable, including audio files.
