How-to Samsung Galaxy Note 8: Transfer Audio Files from a PC and Set Custom Ringtones & Notifications

    Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the notification area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Use the Explorer to locate the desired audio files on the computer storage
    5. Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” directories under “Media
    6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Change the General Ringtone:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings
    3. Tap “Sound and vibration
    4. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
    5. Tap “Back” to confirm

    Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

    1. Launch “Contacts
    2. Select the desired contact
    3. Access “Details
    4. Tap “Edit” > “More” > “Ringtone
    5. Tap “Allow storage permission” and set the option to “Allow
    6. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK
    7. Press “Back” to confirm

    Change Incoming Email Notification Settings:

    1. Open “Email
    2. Tap “Menu
    3. Access “Settings
    4. Go to “Manage accounts
    5. Select your email address and scroll to “Notification settings
    6. Tap “Email notifications” and tick or clear the desired check boxes
    7. Enable or disable “Notification sound” and “Vibrate

    Change Emergency Alert Settings:

    1. Open “Messages
    2. Tap “Menu
    3. Go to “Settings
    4. Tap “Emergency alert settings” > “Emergency alerts
    5. Enable or disable “Imminent severe alerts”, “Imminent extreme alerts” and “AMBER alerts

    Want to transfer audio files from PC to Samsung Galaxy Note 8? The easiest way is using Samsung mobile manager tool. After connecting Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to computer via usb cable, we can easily import audio files from computer to it.
