How-to Samsung Galaxy S9: Transfer Audio Files from a PC and Set Custom Ringtones & Notifications

    Transfer Audio Files from a PC:

    1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the notification area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the desired audio files on the computer storage
    5. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” or “Notifications” folders
    6. Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

    Change the General Ringtone:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Go to “Sound and vibration
    3. Tap “Ringtone
    4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “Back” to confirm

    Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

    1. Open “Contacts
    2. Select the desired contact and go to “Details
    3. Tap “Edit” > “More” > “Ringtone
    4. Tap “Allow storage permission” and set to “Allow
    5. Select the desired ringtone
    6. Tap “OK” > “Back

    Change Incoming Email Notification Settings:

    1. Launch “Email
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings
    3. Access “Manage accounts
    4. Select your email address and go to “Notification settings
    5. Tap “Email notifications” and tick or clear the desired boxes
    6. Turn “Vibrate” and “Notification sound” ON or OFF

    Change Emergency Alert Settings:

    1. Launch “Messages
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings
    3. Go to “Emergency alert settings
    4. Tap “Emergency alerts
    5. Turn “Imminent severe alerts”, “Imminent extreme alerts” and “AMBER alerts” ON or OFF
