How-to Sony Xperia Z3V: Back Up Apps, Contacts and Media

    Backing Up Apps:
    1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
    2. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
    3. Swipe to "Personal" and tap "Backup & reset"
    4. Mark the "Backup my data" check box
    5. Tap "Backup account" and choose the desired backup account. NOTE: to add an account, tap "Add account" and follow the on-screen instructions
    Backing Up Contacts:
    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Swipe to and tap "Backup & restore"
    3. Tap "Manual backup"
    4. Select the content that you wish to back up, such as "Contacts", "Conversations" etc.
    5. Tap "Continue" and wait for the backup to be completed
    6. Tap "Finish"

    Media File Backup

    Backing Up Media Files Using Your Smartphone:
    1. Tap the "Apps" icon from the home screen
    2. Open "File Commander" and tap "Pictures" or "Videos"
    3. Tap "Camera" mark the files that you wish to transfer
    4. Tap the "Copy" icon at the bottom of the screen
    5. Navigate to the main screen of File Commander
    6. Tap "SD Card" and browse to the desired backup location on the external memory
    7. Tap the icon depicting a notepad next to a pencil and select "Paste"
    Backing Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
    1. Connect your smartphone to your computer via USB
    2. In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click to "Browse files"
    3. Access the phone's "Internal storage" directory
    4. Navigate to the files you wish to back up and copy them
    5. Navigate to the desired backup location on your computer and paste the files there
    6. After the transfer is done, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
    7. Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
    8. Safely disconnect your smartphone from the USB port

    Sony data manager tool offers us an easy way to backup data like contacts, media files, apps, etc on Sony Xperia Z3V from computer via USB Cable. After we connect it to computer, we can do the data backup directly.
