Discussion in 'alt.cellular.verizon' started by michael hillegass, Oct 11, 2003.

Sprint and alot of other carriers lock their phones, so you would not be
able to program them. Has nothing to do with EROES. Alltel does not lock
their phones, so theoretically they could be used.

Anyone can activate any tri-mode CDMA phone that isn't subsidy locked.
Just go to www.verizonwireless.com, and log into (or activate) your
account. You don't need any other system. (Altell and Cellular One
phones aren't locked. For a Sprint phone you'll need the Master
Subsidy Lock code to unlock the phone. Pre-paid phones are almost
    certainly locked.)

As long as the customer is able to get the MSL from Sprint, you can unlock
the phone - and no, Alltel does not lock their phones so you should just be
    able to activate it.

Cellular One (WW) phones are indeed subsidy locked, BUT any sales rep will
unlock them for you. Cellular One (WW) isnt nazi about providing you with
    the msl.
