    Using iTunes:

NOTE: If you have iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet, you can use the application to sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Afterwards you can register the account on the DROID MAXX 2 and sync data, including contacts.
    1. Connect the iPhone to your computer via USB
    2. Launch iTunes
    3. Click the iPhone in iTunes, to view the summary page
    4. Click the “Info” tab and enable “Sync Contacts With
    5. Choose “Google Contacts” from the drop-down list
    6. Register your Google account or click “Configure” and select an existing account if available
    7. Click “Apply” to begin the sync
    8. Once the sync is done, register the same Google account on the MAXX 2 and allow it to sync contacts with your phone
    Using iCloud:

NOTE: In case you’ve used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone prior to finding this guide, your contacts should already be backed up on your iCloud account. You can access the account on a computer with Internet, and export the contacts for use on Android.
    1. Launch the Internet browser on the computer
    2. Go to iCloud and sign in with your iCloud account
    3. Click “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to share
    4. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard
    5. After the vCard is downloaded, import it to “Google Contacts
    6. Alternatively skip the step above and instead connect the MAXX 2 to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard file to the phone storage, and use the “Contacts” app to import the vCard file to your phonebook
    Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: The methods above require access to a computer with an active Internet connection. However, you can transfer your contacts using third party apps too, without needing a computer. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer contacts via email.
    1. Visit the App Store
    2. Install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
    3. Open the application
    4. Tap “Backup” and wait for the contact backup file to be created
    5. Once done, tap “Email” and compose a new email with the vCard file attached to it
    6. Send the email to your own address
    7. Switch to the DROID MAXX 2, open the email, and download the vCard attachment
    8. Use the “Contacts” app to import the file’s contents to your phonebook
    Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is a third party app you can use to transfer contacts and other types of files from one phone to another without needing a computer.
    1. Visit the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
    2. Go to the Play Store and install the same app on the DROID MAXX 2
    3. Open the application on both handsets
    4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts
    5. Select the desired contacts and tap “Send
    6. Select a method of transfer. You can tap “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone and scan the code with the MAXX 2’s camera, or tap “Receive” on the Motorola phone and enter the transfer code generated on the iPhone

I always save my contacts on the SIM card so that there is no loss when I change handsets. I lost all my contacts once due my own carelessness once and will always be careful in the future. What I did was to store all my contacts on my phone's memory and then I did a hard reset wiping everything off including my contacts.
