You can connect your new Motorola Droid Razr HD or Droid Razr Maxx HD to your computer with an USB cable. This is a very convenient way of loading pictures, music, documents, videos or other files from your computer.

To change the type of USB connecting:

    1. Tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Select Storage.
    4. Tap Menu.
    5. Select USB connection.

If you’re using Microsoft Windows 7, Vista or XP, you need to:

    1. Choose Start when you are on the computer.
    2. From your list of programs, select Windows Explorer.
    3. In your Windows Explorer your phone will show up as a connected drive, which will enable you to drag and drop files to it.
    4. You smartphone can also appear as a PTP or MTP device that allows you to use Windows Media Player for transferring files.

If you’re using Apple Macintosh you should download Android File Transfer.

    Transfer Using Mass Storage

The first time you connect your smartphone to your computer through an USB connection, you may be required to install certain drivers. Follow any prompts you see to complete the installation.

    1. While the Home screen is showing, connect the Motorola USB data cable to your smartphone and to a USB port on your computer.
    2. You should make sure you connect your handset to a high power USB port and change the type of USB connection to Mass Storage. To do that -> Tap Apps -> Go to Settings -> Tap Storage -> Tap Menu -> Select USB computer connection -> Choose Mass Storage.

Now your phone and MicroSD card will appear as two separate disks on your computer and you can easily drag and drop files between your Motorola Droid Razr HD or MicroSD card and your computer.

Use “Safely Remove Hardware” before removing the USB cable.
