The following is how to update your LG Chocolate 3 to the latest firmware without bringing the phone into Verizon.

WARNING: If you do not have experience with updating phone software, do not perform this task as you could void the warranty on your phone and render it useless.

alright i'm having a issue with lgnpst not recognizing the phone. i had the same issue with my vx1000 doing it and it turns out there was a dll installer that needed to be ran for lgnpst to recognise the LG Voyager phone.

does anyone have that for the vx8560? or is there a way around it, thanks for any help

The VX8560 model will be the first ever Chocolate clamshell, available in both black and light blue (Though we bet there will be additional colors in the future). Some of the expected features include a microSD card slot, a 1GB of internal memory (which sounds quite impressive), a 3.5mm headset jack, a 2-megapixel camera, stereo speakers, stereo Bluetooth, and an integrated FM transmitter. The full retail price is expected to be $299, though you can get it for $129 after a $50 rebate and a two-year service agreement ($199 after a $50 rebate and a 1-year agreement).
    Thanks
