Justin, I know you had major issues with Sprint and Verizon, but there
are other people that haven't. Sprint and Verizon don't suck everywhere,
although there are unquestionably areas where they *do* suck. So as a
blanket statement, saying the freebies are useless isn't correct.

Nope. I've never used Sprint, I was just extrapolating from the OPs
message, as it was plain as day to me that that was what he meant.

So you're not Justin from Texas who had a buttload of problems with SPCS
not having service in your neighborhood?

He's a troll because he doesn't use VZW- he's an old Sprint, current ATT
    customer.

So if three day weekends and 7pm night calls are so important to you, go
with a carrier that offers that!

Geez, some people are just never happy, and will bitch about anything!

But but but this is America, they don't seem to care about good service, all
they ask for is free or cheaper stuff!. :) Bet if Wal-Mart had a Chinese
phone they'd buy it instead :)
  14. VZW sells many Chinese phones.

Not sure where you are located, but in my area (SF Bay Area) Verizon offers
their customers something that it is not available on Cingular, T-Mobile,
Sprint, Nextel, or AT&T in this area--the ability to make and receive calls
throughout the region. All for only $5-10 more per month than the carriers
with worse coverage charge. People that value coverage over gimmicks gladly
    pay the price for Verizon.

Quality of coverage varies by region. I would not get Verizon in areas where
they are solely at 1900 Mhz. I would not sign up with any carrier that is
solely 1900 Mhz in the areas where I use the service the most.

No shit! And if Wal Mart killed children daily in the foyer, people
would still go there for the "low prices"

I will throw in again the fact that Sprint PCS in the Minnesota far
exceeds Verizon in quality and breadth of coverage. And Sprint IS all
PCS. As a matter of fact, Verizon has too many holes in Minnesota and
for the majority of the state, it requires a roaming partner (often
Sprint PCS). Native coverage is small here and the equipment they use
seems to be the cause of many local problems (echo, tower induced
    static, etc).

VZW sells no Chinese phones... except, I guess Motorola could almost be
considered a Chinese manufacturer these days, eh? :(

I was thinking "manufactured by a Chinese company" - but you probably meant
    "made in China."

Nokia and Kyocera phones are made in the USA. I'm not sure where Samsungs are
    made.
